in conjunction with CVPR2015

News:

  • The submission deadline is extended to March 29!

Mission:

Inferring geometric structures for scenes and objects from a single image was a major goal of early research in computer vision; however, the difficulties of handling images in realistic settings led the community away from this important problem. With recent breakthroughs in image recognition and segmentation, as well as the increased availability of large collections of 3D models, there seems to be a renewed interest in the problem. It is a new trend to explore how to couple the inference of semantics and geometric structures for image understanding.

The goal of this workshop is to bring together influential researchers from the various relevant areas, computer and human vision, graphics, to discuss geometric structure inference problem from a single image, such as scene and object reconstruction. Namely we are especially interested in the following topics:

  • Relationships between multiview and single-view reconstruction
  • Reconstruction and shape analysis
  • Object reconstruction now and before, what has changed and how can we make progress now
  • Bottom-up vs top-down reconstruction
  • Relationships with segmentation and recognition
  • Dataset issues
